Bed
This 18th century American bed is probably from Philadelphia. It has four low bottle-leg shaped posts terminating in ball finials, with some of the original blue-green paint. It has a headboard, but no footboard; mortise and tenon construction. Has pegs for a sacking bottom; holes were later drilled in the frame to turn into a rope bed. It is currently strung with reproduction hemp rope.
